Why I’m fundraising for MHA

Why I'm Fundraising for MHA

I’m fundraising for MHA because being part of MHA Trembaths is more than just having a job to me. I’m a Care Assistant. It’s not what I do, it’s what I am. The trust that the vulnerable bestow upon me, during a difficult time, is both an honour and a responsibility. I live in the service of the sick, to foster their safety, their dignity, and to show that someone cares.

Working in care has taught me how much difference kindness, patience, and companionship can make. Often, it’s the small things, a listening ear, a reassuring conversation, or simply being there, that mean the most.

Running the London Marathon for MHA would be an honour.  I would be carrying more than just my own story when I run. I would be carrying the stories of the residents who inspire me with their strength, my colleagues who work with compassion every day, and my family who support me in everything I do.

By sponsoring me, you'll help MHA provide vital support to older people, including befriending visits, friendship groups and bring comfort, connection, and reassurance. Every donation, no matter the size, will help older people feel valued and connected.

So incredibly proud of you for making it to the start line today. Running a marathon is no joke, but I've seen how hard you've worked for this. When it gets tough out there, just remember why you started and lean on the crowd. You’ve got this, brother!!
